Tall Ship under White Sails

A three-masted sailing ship comes head-on across calm water, every sail set and lit white against a sky of blue and drifting cloud. The dark hull is reflected below in broken strokes of cobalt and violet, with small flashes of gold. The sails are laid on thickly, so they stand out from the canvas.

The sails are laid on thickly in white and cream, so they stand out from the canvas and catch any light in the room. The dark hull and its broken reflection in cobalt and violet give the bright sails weight.

A classic nautical painting for a study, living room, office or a coastal home. It suits white, navy and grey walls with wood and brass details, and at 65 × 50 cm it fits above a desk or a chest of drawers.
