Grand Canal, Evening Lights
The Grand Canal at nightfall, palaces in red, gold and pink on both banks and their lit windows spilling yellow into the water. A gondola crosses the centre of the canal while others wait under the awnings on the right. The sky is a deep, restless blue, broken by a band of light low over the far end of the canal.
