Grand Canal at Dusk

Venice at the blue hour, looking down the Grand Canal from the Rialto. The palaces hold the last warm light on their facades while the water below has already gone deep blue, broken by gold and pink reflections laid in short separate touches. Gondolas wait under their red awnings on the right, one moving out into the open channel. Painted thickly with the knife, so the reflections stand up off the canvas.
